In 2025, the Norwegian titanium suppressor manufacturer Vanward has introduced improved second-generation suppressors that provide even better sound reduction while remaining compact in size and weight.

The new Hunter G2 suppressor is an upgraded version of the already well-known Hunter. It will be especially appreciated by hunters who want to combine excellent sound suppression, a simple design, and low weight. The suppressor is slim, with a diameter of only 4.2 centimeters, making it suitable for firearms equipped with scopes on low mounts, as well as thermal and night vision optics. Thanks to this design, it does not obstruct the shooter’s view through the scope.

The device weighs 254 grams and is 21 centimeters long. It reduces recoil and decreases noise levels by 28 - 35 decibels. The suppressor is made from fifth-generation titanium, an extremely strong and lightweight material that is resistant to both pressure and corrosion - the most common cause of suppressor wear. Its outer design features a 3D hexagonal pattern, which not only improves its appearance but also strengthens the structure, making the suppressor safer, stronger, and more durable. The pattern also helps with more effective surface cooling.

Titanium is one of the most corrosion-resistant metals on earth. It withstands water, salt solutions, and powder residues. Research shows that combustion products from gunpowder do not adhere to titanium as they do to aluminum or steel. Tests have proven that the suppressor remains usable without cleaning even after 8,000 rounds of .308Win caliber ammunition. Moreover, titanium’s melting point exceeds 1600 degrees Celsius, so even during rapid fire, there is no need to worry about its performance, even when it becomes very hot.

Despite the suppressor’s durability, it is not recommended to store it attached to the firearm. After active shooting, it should be removed and stored separately, as otherwise corrosive gases may accumulate and damage other metal parts and alloys.
